This piece was created using a hybrid combination of two fractal types – ‘escapetime’ and ‘dIFS’. The object within the transparent dIFS cube is an ecapetime formula known as the ‘Mandelbox’ or ‘Amazingbox’, and was one of the first 3D fractal types to be discovered by some very clever guys and gals over at FractalForums.com
