C.A.T. Arriving at Vavatch Orbital

Continuing my attempts to fractally portray scenes from Iain M. Banks’s ‘Culture’ novels, this is an imagining of the ship ‘Clear Air Turbulence’ approaching ‘Vavatch Orbital’ – an immense toroidal structure 3 million miles in diameter, in orbit around its sun, and landscaped on its inner surface. This scene is taken from his superb novel ‘Consider Phlebas’. 
Rumour has it that a movie treatment is in preparation; boy, would I love to work on that one?!
